Join us on Friday, June 12th as we celebrate 45 years of State Line Auto Auction at our 45th Anniversary Bash. This special event honors the dealers, staff, and partners who have helped shape SLAA since 1981, and we’re pulling out all the stops to make this one to remember.

This year’s celebration is shaping up to be one of the biggest sale days in State Line history. Along with a packed lineup of dealer consignments, fleet and lease vehicles, rentals, repossessions, a special RV & Powersports run, and free until sold in all lanes (no “No Sale” fee charged), dealers will also experience an unforgettable historic moment rolling right past the auction.

Last year it was Richard Petty. This year, it’s the “Big Boy.”

We’re thrilled to announce that Union Pacific’s restored steam locomotive “Big Boy” is scheduled to pass through Waverly during the celebration as part of a commemorative nationwide tour honoring America’s upcoming 250th Anniversary. Bringing together history, transportation, and patriotism, this legendary locomotive is expected to draw attention from all across the region, and our dealers will have a front-row seat for the experience.

Please note that Friday’s sale will begin at a delayed start time of 10:00 AM Eastern Time to allow dealers and guests the opportunity to enjoy the appearance of “Big Boy” before the lanes get rolling. The pit located across the street will also be opened around 8:30-8:45 AM for auction guests wanting to gather and watch the locomotive pass through Waverly before returning for the start of the sale.

The day will also feature 45 lucky dealers each taking home $500 in cash giveaways for a total of $22,500, surprise dealer gifts, and a FREE chicken barbecue lunch beginning at 11 AM featuring slow-cooked BBQ chicken fresh from our famous “chicken pit” (iykyk). This year’s complimentary lunch menu includes BBQ half chicken, salt potatoes, smoked baked beans, coleslaw, sliced watermelon, and a fresh baked cookie.
